You signal to the employee with food and hope the correct dish is delivered. The memory of that meal didn't last very long. Nothing was bad, but few dishes had a distinctive taste or seemed prepared in a special way. Food: Good, but few things made us yell "give me 5 more"!!! Most of us ate because we were hungry.not because we couldn't get enough great food. We might be spoiled by visiting close family in Los Angeles on a regular basis, but the array of dishes in LA is more extensive than in SJ. Staffers offered food from trays and carts, so we could only judge by what was offered or observed. Menu: Since this was a meal of dim sum, we didn't see a traditional menu. But from what I saw, Jade Cathay was pleasant and served its purpose. Of course in the typical commotion associated with a packed house for dim sum brunch you might not notice your surroundings as much as a quiet dinner for 2 in a hush-hush French restaurant. A big, roughly square shaped room with lots of tables and chairs. Fortunately, our reservation bailed us out. Every table was taken with people standing along the sides, by the door and along the curb waiting for their turn. When we arrived at 11 AM, the place was humming. Dads deserve some fuss, too! So while we had nooo trouble finding a nice buffet lunch for the ladies, our group of 8 adults and 3 grandchildren.ages 6, 8 and 9.was hard pressed to locate a suitable lunch spot which accepted reservations on Father's Day. While every place worth it's champagne rolls out the red carpet for moms, most dads are left to search for crumbs. Star Ratings: - Overall: 3 - Food Quality: 4 - Food Quantity: 3 - Dining Room Attractiveness: 2 - Menu: 3 - Service: 4 - Noise: 1 - Price: 4 - Value: 5 - Parking: 3 - Ambiance: 3 Father's Day is not Mother's Day.especially in the restaurant world. Suggestion: Have at least one person who speaks or at least understands Chinese in your group. Pros: Lots of dim sum dishes for Sunday brunch.
